Feminine hygiene line Summers Eve has an awesome new commercial! I cant find a link to the actual commercial but its definitely become very controversial. I happen to love it! It declares basically that the Vagina is a powerful weapon that men will fight for ( so take care of it).
I wish that I was told this as a child. Instead my mom beat "no sex before marriage" into my head my whole adolescence so naturally I had sex with the first idiot loser that came around. Had I known that my flower had the ability to start wars, I never would have given it up so easily. So here is a lesson learned that I will pass along to my little sisters; own your power as a woman. Embrace your sexuality and femininity like the Goddesses of ancient era's but remember, men had to fight battles to win the heart before they were awarded the ultimate prize.
"So God created man in his image, in the image of god created he, him; male and female, created he, them. - Genesis 1:26, 27
I'm not completely devoted to the idea that the bible is the say all, be all, end of the final word of all things but it is to me more like a book of histories through a certain set of eyes. Every religion and culture in our world would write their histories in a very different way from all different perspectives. If God is the all mighty reason we exist then according to this verse, he created us to be God-like. The irony of this is that if my close-minded, religious zealot of a mother heard me refer to myself as a "Goddess", she would cry blasphemy or witch craft, but this verse which is clearly written in some very official King James translation- as in back when the church slaughtered the innocent in the name of religion- blatantly states that we were created in a god like form, me are meant to be, feel, act, think and look like the Gods and Goddesses we were created as.
So be the Goddess you were meant to be! Strengthen and stretch every part of who you are! Never stop growing, learning, laughing and loving!
Through out the centuries history has told stories of many many women who have accomplished extraordinary things. Marie Antoinette, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra, Queen Victoria, Harriet Tubman, Marilyn Monroe, Maya Angelou, Anne Frank, Coco Chanel, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Princess Diana, Princess Kate, Beyonce, Lady Gaga... All powerful women... all Goddessess.
Just like the Goddesses of Ancient Greece, we posses powers well beyond our understanding. From our natural maternal instincts to our powers of seduction and sensuality, we are strong creatures not to be underestimated.
Whether you are a student, mom, career woman or just wandering through life, you are a goddess capable of amazing things. With these very simple steps you can unleash your inner Goddess and explore a side of your feminine powers you never knew existed. Being a goddess is all about confidence, ambition and faith. With these tools anything is possible.
Goddess rule #1- Love thyself
If you do not love yourself , you will never truly be able to love someone else or except their love in return.
This starts with building your confidence. Let go of any criticisms and judgements made by yourself and others and realize that you have a purpose in this world and no one can hold you back.
Goddess rule #2- Purify yourself from the inside out.
This is not a religious or spiritual thing. It can be if they is what works for you but what I mean by this is to take care of yourself. Take care of your body. Eat healthy and exercise. This will start the process of building ones confidence and maintaining a positive self image.
Goddess rule #3- Surround yourself with beauty.
Keep a clean organized home free of chaos and confusion. Fill it with scents and decorations that fill you with joy and happiness. Your home is your fortress and should always make you feel at peace. Adorn an decoration your home as well as your body to express your inner goddess.
Goddess rule #4- Separate yourself from negativity.
whether its a person, place or thing, if it is the source of any negativity, get rid of it.
Goddess rule #5- Live for the pursuit of happiness.
Everyday is a new blessed day and should be lived to the fullest. Do not deny yourself of the things that make you happy.
These "rules" are just something I have come up with based on the changes I have made in my life and the positive benefits that have come from them.
The journey has just begun...
Peace and Blessings,
Nora Love
